Summit Power, the largest independent power producer in Bangladesh, has obtained in-principle approval from the government to construct a new Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Moheshkhali, Cox's Bazar. The company, which already operates one FSRU in the same area, aims to address the growing domestic supply-demand gap. According to Mohd Nurman, the general manager of Summit Asia Pacific, Bangladesh's gas production is expected to decline, widening the gap to 2.4 billion cubic feet per day by 2025.
