Rakhmad Dewanto graduated from Faculty of Economics University Indonesia. He worked for TOTAL E&P Indonesie, subsidiary of TOTAL S.A for 15 years. He held several positions in Commercial Business Development Division including Head of Gas Revenue Controller, Market Research, Head Export & Domestic Gas Sales Department. In 2018, he joined Pertamina Hulu Mahakam as Commercial Business Development & Strategic Planning Manager prior to be appointed as Vice President Commercial PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia in 2020. In 2021, he was appointed as Director Operation & Commercial PT Nusantara Regas and starting September 2022, he was assigned as Director Gas and Fuel in PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia, a SubHolding PLN in charge for primary energy.

Since 2018, he was also appointed as Secretary General of the Indonesia Gas Society (IGS). The association comprises of 25 companies of upstream, midstream, downstream and buyers of natural gas in Indonesia. IGS is also the members of International Gas Union (IGU).
