Nazery Khalid

Nazery Khalid is well-known figure in the maritime sector / marine industry whose reputation as a prolific policy researcher, writer and public speaker was carved during a 10-year career at Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA), a policy think tank under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (2004 - 2014) to which he is still affiliated as a Distinguished Fellow. He was the Honorary Secretary of Association of Marine Industries of Malaysia (AMIM) from 2015 to 2018 and holds Adjunct Professorship at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and Taylor’s University, Malaysia. 

Nazery has taught Maritime Economics and Logistics at universities in Malaysia and was a Visiting Fellow at universities in China, France, Pakistan and Wales. He is a sought-after speaker in the field of maritime economics, offshore oil and gas, logistics and supply chain management.  He has had his research on ship financing and multimodal transport in Malaysia and two conference proceedings on Straits of Malacca published by MIMA and has published extensively in refereed journals, chaoters in books and articles in print and online.
